We have a Salon located right on campus, making it very convenient if your loved one needs a haircut, perm or style. The salon provides an opportunity for our residents to enjoy a wide variety of services.
Our nail-care clinic, is onsite once a month. The owner will coordinate with families to do those extra nail care services such as manicures, pedicures or both!
We know all too well the challenges that sometimes accompany caring for a loved one with memory loss. We encourage family members to seek out and participate in one of the many support groups in the community. It really helps to talk and listen to those who have been where you are in your journey. We have seen firsthand how helpful these groups can be for the people who are the caregivers and to know you aren’t alone. Please feel free to give us a call for a list of groups in your area.
We love pets of all shapes and sizes. Pet Therapy has long been known to be beneficial to people with dementia. Pets can increase socialization and decrease anxiety.
Compassion Fatigue is a secondary traumatic stress disorder that causes caretakers to become apathetic and isolated, and may lead to emotional and mental health issues and substance abuse. We know that when caregivers spend the majority of their time focusing on their loved ones and not practicing self-care, they can easily develop Compassion Fatigue. Our Compassion Fatigue For Caregivers program teaches families how to recognize symptoms, which is the first step to healing. We know that when you make positive changes by taking care of your mental and emotional well-being, it leads to personal transformation and renewed resiliency.

It is our desire that our residents age in place in a safe, comfortable, and familiar environment. Should hospice services be needed, our nursing staff and caregivers work hand in hand with hospice providers to provide end of life care.
Respite care services are offered at our assisted living community as a solution for caregivers providing direct care for a loved one. Respite care provides primary caregivers a chance to take a break, go on vacation, or just take a few days to relax knowing your loved one is well cared for in a safe environment. Respite is also ideal for those who need transitional assistance after an illness, surgery or hospital stay. Oakdale Heights can accommodate respite stays anywhere from a few days to a few months.
